About This Role

The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering is seeking an IT Support Specialist II. The IT Support Specialist II is responsible for providing second-tier technical support and assistance to users within the college/unit. This role involves troubleshooting moderately complex hardware and software issues, providing hardware and/or software recommendations, maintaining IT systems and mentoring junior IT support staff. The incumbent may be tasked with delivering IT training.

Minimum Qualifications

What You’ll Need to Succeed

High school diploma and two years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Experience in a technical support or IT role, with a proven track record of resolving technical issues.

Experience with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools.

Previous experience in a technical support role or relevant internships is a plus.

Proficiency in various operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Familiarity with networking concepts, security practices, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.

Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware components.

Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools.

Ability to transport up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

Other Requirements

Must have a current driver’s license.
