The Royal Marine Hotel is recruiting a Junior Human Resources Administrator. This role supports the day to day work of the HR department and helps keep things running smoothly for employees across the hotel.
This position offers up to 32 hours per week, depending on business needs.
Role Overview
The position involves general HR administration, including maintaining employee records, assisting with hiring and supporting staff throughout their employment. The role also includes basic health and safety administration and ensuring procedures are followed correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep employee files up to date, both paper and digital
- Assist with job ads, reviewing applications, arranging and conducting interviews
- Prepare paperwork for new starters and organise inductions
- Handle leaver paperwork and update records when staff leave
- Work with payroll by checking weekly hours and updating employee details
- Respond to day to day staff queries and pass on issues where needed
- Help organise and conduct training sessions and maintain training records
- Support health and safety administration tasks
- Support and conduct internal staff events, recognition activities and social initiatives across the hotel
Requirements
- Experience in an administrative role, ideally within HR or a busy office environment
- Experience handling employee records, documentation, or similar administrative processes
- Familiar with basic HR practices such as recruitment admin, onboarding paperwork and employee files
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database/HR systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and keep work organised without constant supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including dealing with staff queries in a clear and professional way
- High level of accuracy when working with records and confidential information
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality setting would be an advantage
