We are seeking a full‑time Legal Assistant to join our busy Commercial
Litigation Practice Group in our Vaughan office.

This role assists the practice of Legal Professionals through the provision of secretarial, clerical and administrative support. The Legal Assistant works with team members to provide excellent client service to both internal and external parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support including proofreading, revision and preparation of documentation under the instruction of the legal professionals and transcription of data from various sources (e.g., voicemail, dictation, etc.).
  • Acts as a liaison between relevant internal and/or external parties. Routes or answers routine correspondence to relevant parties.
  • Provides clerical, administrative and general office support including, but not limited to, scanning, photocopying, faxing, scheduling and calendar management, receiving/placing phone calls with internal and/or external parties, mail, organizing travel arrangements, and scanning PDF documents.
  • Provides billing support with respect to accounting and invoicing clients as required. This includes review of pre‑bills, making corrections or advising Accounting to make corrections and mailing out final bill under a cover letter. Prepares expense requisitions, etc.
  • Creates and maintains physical and electronic files in accordance with standard procedures, including opening and closing files, conflict searches, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring

  • Community College Certificate or Diploma, or equivalent combination of experience.
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Civil Rules, procedures and practices.
  • Experience with Civil Litigation court procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of Mediation procedures and practices is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail with the flexibility to accommodate work demands.
  • Proofreading and accuracy are required.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent ability to learn new computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion when necessary.
  • Knowledge in legal accounting software.
