Working hours – Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm

Achallengingand rewarding opportunity has arisen for a multiskilled and trustworthy Legal Executive/In House Solicitor within a growing family of businesses. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with and report directly to the Managing Director to meet our business goals. This is anexcitingopportunity to growyour skillsand expertise while working in adynamicandcollaborativeenvironment.
The varied andchallengingrole will be split between both accountancy and property development companies. In this role, the ideal candidate will be expected to advise on a variety of legal matters in both firms and manage these on a day-to-day basis whilst ensuring that senior staff are kept briefed as to developments. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Providing legal advice on complex matters
Reviewing legal documents regarding commercial and residential property conveyancing
Reviewing and advising on contractual matters, to include employment matters
Handling personal legal matters, as requested, by the Managing Director and their family
Effectivecommunicationvia emails/telephone calls/in person
Diary management to liaise with the relevant internal and external stakeholders, including other solicitors/barristers
Preparing and reviewing property lease/tenancy agreements
Protecting tenant deposits to ensure fulllegal compliance
Assisting with legal action to recover outstanding fees/rents. This includes letters before action (under the relevant pre-action protocols) and claims at the county court.
Dealing with banks and loan queries
Dealing with council matters
Analyse, research and summarise legal information – both to be able to brief senior staff and also to draft legal documents on a range of business matters
Liaise with other professionals, including lawyers and barristers on behalf of the business
Keep up to date with relevant changing legislations so as to be able to offer timely and contemporary advice
File and index paperwork
Miscellaneous other tasks as reasonably requested bysenior management
Key Skills and Experience:
Excellent written and oral Englishcommunication skills
Good standard of numeracy.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office – especially Word, Excel and Outlook
Knowledge and experience of the property sector and its working – ideally to include lettings, acquisition, and development.
Ability to work flexibly and proactively under pressure at times, planning workflow and prioritising as necessary to complete tasks to a high standard and meet competing deadlines
Good research ability
Closeattention to detail, including the ability to draft and analyse complex documents and to summarise the salient points to senior staff
Proven ability to work both as part of a medium-sized team but also independently and proactively under own initiative
