Next Care Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant that likes the challenge of a fast-paced setting and working in a team environment. Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing patient care duties under the Medical Assistant scope of practice in the urgent care setting.

How you will make an impact

The Medical Assistant supports the organization with customer service and treats all of our patients with respect and dignity. They provide patient care services in the back office urgent care setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient.

Essential Education, Experience, and Skills:

Education:

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; and

1. The medical assistant candidate has completed an APPROVED Medical Assistant Training Program.

Certification is not required but is preferred.

2. The medical assistant candidate has completed an UNAPPROVED medical assistant training program AND certification is required.

3. The medical assistant candidate may be hired if they meet one of the following three (3) criteria within

A., or

B., or

C.

A. The medical assistant candidate completed an UNAPPROVED medical assistant training program AND employed as a medical assistant for one (1) year or more after program completion.

B. The medical assistant candidate was directly supervised by a maximum of three physician(s), physician group(s), physician assistant(s), or nurse practitioner(s) for a minimum of 2000 hours total (approximately working 40 hours/week for 12 months).

C. The medical assistant completed a United States Armed Forces medical services training program.
