POSITION GOAL: Assist the Special Education Director in performing clerical duties in order to facilitate the smooth operation and function of the special education program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all secretarial duties relevant to the daily activities of the special education coordinator.
Receive and welcome visitors, students, incoming calls and messages in a positive manner.
Transcribe and process correspondence for the administration/special education coordinator.
Log referrals and mail information to Districts and Superintendent.
Process approved purchased orders for materials needed for the Special Education Department.
Forward records for transferring students.
Copy and correlate various materials needed by the school staff; and request special education records.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality of information about students.
Prepare all necessary correspondence and reports.
Maintain accurate class rosters.
Maintain special education files.
Maintain special education student information in various systems (Local and State).
Compile and submit special education claims via EasyIEP.
Observe daily working hours as established by the Board of Education.
Perform other duties and working hours as may be assigned by the Special Education Director and Superintendent.
