Job Duties

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as a Program Administrative Specialist in the Health Care Division.

This position supports the administrative work of the DMAS Dental Unit.

Duties include but are not limited to: assisting SFC contract administrator in day-to-day oversight of all contractual requirements and reporting; ensuring accurate payment of contractor claims; review of financial reporting for accuracy prior to submission to fiscal for payment; establishing and keeping current all files and records for the SFC program administration; preparation, review and filing of reports (weekly, monthly. quarterly, annually); responding to inquiries from providers and public regarding the SFC program, and dental benefits under Medicaid, managing the SFC website, and providing administrative support to DMAS Dental team and the Dental Advisory Committee (DAC).

Duties also include review of dental appeals and participation in CMS audits of dental claims.

The position you are applying for is an Hourly/Wage position. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than an average of 29 hours a week and cannot exceed 1500 hours during their employment year. This position does not include health insurance, retirement or leave.

Minimum Qualifications

Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:

Knowledge and/or experience conducting web-based research as well as proficiency in updating content for web pages for the DMAS Dental Unit.

Experience in developing statistical reports and using different software applications to produce reports.

Experience in establishing, monitoring, and organizing electronic and paper filing systems.

Experience researching, evaluating, and reporting on complex issues and/or investigating and responding to concerns and complaints.

Proficient experience in the use of Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Knowledge and experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying federal/state laws and regulations.

Experience meeting deadlines.

Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
