Document Control Specialist- Birmingham

Description

This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, systems, and processes for managing and protecting SNC operational records and procedures. The position is responsible for the procedures and records management programs, including revision and maintenance of procedures and licensing documents, administration of program related training, program related audits, and ownership of the fleet document management system (DMS). The purpose of the records and procedures management programs is to assist and lead employees and contracted third parties with compliance in recordkeeping, information, and procedures management requirements outlined in the Company’s records and procedures management policies and standards.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Updating and revising corporate and fleet procedures.

Working with peer teams and executive sponsors.

Providing technical writer type reviews of procedures as requested.

Providing training on procedure templates and general guidance as needed.

Editing/Processing Technical Publications (licensing documents).

Working within the electronic document management system (Documentum).

Performing on-demand and routine maintenance of Documentum.

Maintaining/processing historical engineering and licensing Quality Assurance (QA) and other pertinent business records.

Developing/implementing training and providing oversight to ensure records are processed in accordance with SNC procedures, regulatory requirements, industry guidelines and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Receiving, processing, transmitting, and maintaining high level security information (Safeguards Information) that relates to homeland security and the overall security of all three plant sites.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements:

BS degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field of study is highly desired.

Procedure Professionals Association Certification is highly desired

Background/Experience Requirements:

1 year records management related experience preferred.

2 years technical writing and technical document experience is preferred.

Working level knowledge of controlled document maintenance is required.

Familiarity with electronic document management systems is preferred.

Experience working in a regulated environment in preferred.

Ability to interpret and apply regulatory and legal requirements.

Proficient with MS Products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe.

Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization.

Ability to effectively interact with the Technology Organization to develop and deploy solutions.
