Description
The duty station for this position is in King County, therefore the incumbent will receive 5% premium pay in addition to the salary listed above.
The Opportunity:
The Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) is looking for an administrative professional with strong verbal and written communication skills to join the Advanced Training Division (ATD) as an Administrative Assistant 3. This role will provide support to a variety of programs within ATD including the Coroner Medical Examiner, Substance Use Disorder and Building Public Trust programs. Duties
Duties assigned to this position include (but are not limited to):
Oversee administrative course logistics such as set up for attendees, travel arrangement preparation for instructors, and hotel accommodations.
Register course attendees.
Prepare class material, instructor packets, and student instructions.
Serve as a communication point of contact for instructor and/or student questions. Provide pre and post course information as requested.
Create certificates and billing requests.
Create and send surveys and collect responses.
Provide onsite administrative, registration, and logistical support for classes, when held at WSCJTC Headquarters.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications/Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience. – OR –
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communication, Criminal Justice, Education, or related course of study may substitute year-for-year for experience.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency with Office 365 products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).
Ability to work independently while effectively interpreting pertinent policies and procedures.
Ability to be flexible, professional, and highly motivated in your work.
At least three (3) years of experience in a position requiring written and verbal communication skills.
At least three (3) years of experience in positions requiring organizational and priority-setting skills, and demonstratable ability to work effectively with internal and external clients.
Must maintain strict confidentiality while performing job duties.
At least three (3) years of experience in positions requiring quality work production sometimes under short deadlines.
Basic understanding of criminal justice or public safety organizations.
Experience working in an administrative capacity for a state or local government agency regulated by laws, policies, and/or procedures.
Experience working in an administrative capacity in a position responsible for following the Open Public Meetings Act, Public Records Laws and procedures, and Records Retention rules.
