Who We Serve
North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) provides advocacy, services, support, and care coordination to children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties.
We partner with community-based organizations and agencies to empower our clients to thrive and live as independently as possible within the geographically, culturally, and ethnically diverse communities we serve. North Bay Regional Center serves over 12,000 people living within the geographic boundaries of Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties.

NATURE OF WORK:

The Confidential Assistant is a confidential position under the direction of the Director of Client Services which will perform a variety of administrative, and/or clerical tasks, as assigned. This position provides a wide range of administrative support and assistance to the Director of Client Services and Associate Directors of Client Services. May assist with scheduling appeals and other tasks associated with the appeal process, including mailing of Notice of Action’s, management of various Department of Developmental Services compliance projects and timelines, and provide support with, preparation for, and completion of audits.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:

The Confidential Assistant will create and edit documents using a computer and appropriate software as it is responsible for confidential correspondence. The Confidential Assistant will provide appropriate information to the public or refer to the proper individual. Additionally, the position will determine priorities for various assigned projects, maintaining knowledge and proficiency with electronic document storage programs (such as SANDIS and Laserfiche), specifically acting as a point of contact and subject matter expert regarding SANDIS. This position will also manage timelines for various DDS requirements such as caseload ratio reporting and other required contractual obligations, in addition to completing other assignments, as required.
Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Equivalent to graduation from high school and three years of increasingly responsible general clerical or office administrative experience.
OR
Graduation from business school and two years’ experience.
Minimum education requirement may not be waived.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Advanced skills in using common office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Self-starter, able to work on complex problems and organize multiple priorities.
Demonstrated critical thinker, and innovative problem-solver.
Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong background in office management practices and procedures, including filing, record-keeping, and the operation of standard office equipment.
Solid understanding of the proper form(s) for typed materials.
Knowledge of business arithmetic, to include percentages and decimals.
Ability to use the English language correctly, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Must type at a minimum rate of 50 net words per minute from handwritten or printed copy.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Fluency in a language in addition to English is preferred.
Must be able to regularly travel to all NBRC offices within catchment area to provide administrative support.
Must be able to occasionally travel to attend meetings outside of catchment area.
If operating own vehicle, provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.
Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency.
This position will be primarily based in the office, with a three-day a week in-office requirement, however, a hybrid work arrangement may also be available to allow for some remote work.

Salary
$61,092 – $67,344 with opportunities for 5% increases annually
