Administrative Assistant
Southern Pipe & Supply is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to serve as the welcoming face of our Corporate Office. In this key role, you’ll support daily administrative functions and assist multiple departments with a wide range of tasks. You will provide essential support to both the Director of IT and CFO, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and timely follow-through on important activities. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative and brings a positive, team-first attitude every day.
Essential Functions
Provide extraordinary service in alignment with “Southern Way Service” standards.
Greet visitors and team members with professionalism, warmth, and a helpful attitude.
Answer and route incoming phone calls promptly and accurately.
Maintain office supply inventory and handle ordering as needed.
Organize and manage filing systems—both digital and paper-based.
Scan, copy, and prepare documents for various departments.
Assist with scheduling, meeting logistics, and calendar coordination.
Provide direct administrative support to the Director of IT and CFO.
Support mail distribution, office upkeep, and interdepartmental communication.
Assist with special projects, reporting, or event coordination as needed.
Perform other administrative tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
Under general direction, assist in any special projects.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Experience managing high call volume in a professional office setting preferred.
Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative support role preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced skills preferred.
Friendly and professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Reliable and dependable with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands
This position operates in a professional office environment.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods.
Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 10 pounds.
Standard Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
This is an on-site position based in our Corporate Office in Meridian, MS.
