We're excited to be partnering with a highly reputable, kiwi-owned company who are recruiting for a newly created role as a Payroll and Finance Admin.
The role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, you will take end to end ownership of fortnightly payroll across several New Zealand entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality at all times. Alongside payroll, you will support finance administration activities such as accounts payable, reconciliations and reporting, and occasional HR coordination support across the employee lifecycle.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being the go to payroll expert, takes pride in getting the detail right, and is comfortable working across systems, spreadsheets and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll, including overtime, commissions, leave, expenses and one-off adjustments
- PAYE reconciliations, payday filing and IRD compliance
- Payroll journals, accruals and general ledger reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate employee, payroll and leave records
- Responding to payroll queries and resolving discrepancies
- Supporting accounts payable, reconciliations, reporting and FBT administration
- Identifying and implementing payroll and process improvements
About you
- 4+ years end-to-end New Zealand payroll experience, ideally in a medium-sized organisation
- Strong understanding of NZ payroll legislation, including PAYE and Holidays Act
- Experience using legacy, on-premise payroll systems (MYOB IMS Payroll) advantageous
- Confident Excel user with excellent attention to detail
- Organised, proactive and trusted to handle highly confidential information
- Strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively across finance and HR
