We are seeking an experienced and proactive Payroll Team Head to lead payroll operations and drive continuous improvement in payroll processes, systems, and governance. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and payroll regulations, with the ability to lead a team and manage complex payroll operations in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate salary payment.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the payroll team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Manage payroll for employees across various work arrangements, including shift operations and overtime.
  • Handle expatriate payroll, tax matters, and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Employment Act 1955 and other relevant labour regulations.
  • Oversee and handle statutory submissions including PCB, CP8D, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PTPTN, Tabung Haji, ASB, CP21, and related filings.
  • Administer expatriate tax documentation, LOA stamping, and payroll-related compliance matters.
  • Review, improve, and implement payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Drive payroll system enhancements and digitalization initiatives to improve efficiency and governance.
  • Prepare payroll reports, analyses, and support internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in leading a payroll team or payroll function.
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Act 1955, payroll regulations, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience handling expatriate payroll and tax matters.
  • Experience with FlexHR is an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and system enhancement.
