As a part of the country’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit university, theCenter for Social Justice Research, Teaching, and Service (CSJ)– within the McCourt School of Public Policy – animates Georgetown University’s Jesuit values and mission through its work in research, teaching, and service. Our social justice work serves Georgetown’s Jesuit mission and important institutional objectives, and its programming receives substantial attention from the campus, local community, and larger external audiences.
Job Overview
TheProject Coordinatoroversees all aspects of CJJR’scommunicationefforts, including but not limited to:
Enhance and maintain the organization’s website, and maintain all web-based platforms that support CJJR’s training and technical assistance programs
Develop and implement effectivecommunicationstrategies that elevate the profile of our work to the field and informs stakeholders of our continued efforts
Administer the development and distribution of CJJR’s newsletter
Manage the CJJR email listserv and social media accounts (e.g., Twitter, Facebook)
Support all program marketing functions
Design all CJJR publications and resources, and other communications and material design responsibilities as assigned
They also support management of the Public Information Officers LearningCollaborative, including managing partner relations, engaging and communicating with PIOLC members, overseeing the PIOLC listserv, developing and distributing meeting agendas, researching topics of interest and curating the curricula for all planned PIOLC activities, and attending all virtual and in-person convenings of the network.
Additionally, they assist all CJJR programs with event preparation as needed, including organizing office events such as staff meetings and retreats; and assisting with the planning and coordination of CJJR publications and symposia.
Work Interactions
Reporting directly to the CJJR Director, theProject Coordinatorinteracts with senior leaders and experts within the Georgetown community and external stakeholders.
As well, they provide communications support to all program areas within the Center for Juvenile Justice Reform, which is housed in the McCourt School of Public Policy.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree -preferablyin Public Policy, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Communications, or a related field
1-2 years of work experience – preference for additional experience
Excellent organization skills and detail orientation, with the capability to simultaneously handle multiple, varied projects
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge ofcommunicationpractices and techniques
Prior administrative and coordination experience, as well as experience creating, editing and managing Google platforms, including Google sites and Google doc as necessary
