We are seeking an Administrative Specialist who is driven to succeed in helping people and the vulnerable population.
This position will assist with the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced office setting. This position provides professional support of administrative nature in developing, implementing and maintaining various complex and routine projects. The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task and prioritize work assignments well.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Run background record checks daily on all accepted reports and complete entries in The Worker’s Information System (TWIST) to document data, including but not limited to documentation of information that was assessed by Central Intake Social Service Worker and other information as warranted.
Performs administrative duties and coordinates work activities such as: schedules for staff, meeting preparation, notifications, tracking of inventory or building management.
Participates in the development and assists in the implementation of county specific procedures for day-to-day functioning, plans, organizes, checks or assists with work of other staff engaged in performing administrative duties.
Schedules meetings or phone conferences and communicates as needed with the community partners or the public concerning issues of the county; compiles, prepares and disseminates staff meeting minutes or other meetings as required; prepares correspondence regarding interviews, hiring information or memorandums to staff.
Interprets department policies or procedures for staff and general public, compiles information or reports as needed to analyze workload information utilizing the Workers Information System (TWIST) as needed or required.
Maintaining current filing, logs or manuals as requested, organizing files as required by standards of practice or operation manual; updating, tracking and providing cases for internal and external reviews upon request for entities such as foster care review board.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
