ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for an Administrative Professional 2 position within the Division of Forestry, headquartered at the new Buckeye State Tree Nursery in Muskingum County. What you will do…

Relieves Nursery Manager/staff of routine nursery program administrative duties (e.g., purchasing, tracking sales, arrange deliveries, coordinate special events, etc.);

Researches & analyzes materials and data and makes recommendations to administration to aid in the decision making process;
Performs public relations, answers phone, responds to public inquiries, works on special assignments;
Prepares reports to be shared with administration, Forestry Advisory Council and other agencies;
May assist with nursery operations (e.g., planting, harvesting, seed collection, etc.) and other forest’s administrative duties;
Travels to other department locations for meetings, events, etc;
Starting hourly pay of $20.92/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $25.45/hr.

Qualifications

18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college.

Or 6 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 1, 16871.

Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
