Wilson Health Services was founded in June of 2001 by Dr. Jason Wilson. Together with his wife, the company has expanded into four multidisciplinary clinics serving Cambridge, Guelph, Paris and Kitchener. Our team includes Chiropractors, Registered Massage Therapists, Physiotherapists, Naturopath and Chiropodists.
Position Overview
Seeking an energetic individual to work in an established multidisciplinary clinic. The clerical support staff is trained to ensure smooth flow within our clinic and to manage patient files efficiently in a friendly, skilled, organized and efficient manner.
Mandatory Availability
- Must be able to work Saturdays from 9‑1PM.
- Opportunities to pick up additional hours and shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and Saturday mornings.
- Ability to travel between clinics to cover vacations and sick calls.
Responsibilities
- Act as an ambassador for the clinic.
- Manage the front desk and coordinate patient care.
- Answer telephone calls and direct them accordingly.
- Greet and check in patients – complete all necessary forms.
- Maintain patient database and patient files.
- Process all patient payments (cash, Visa, Mastercard, Interac).
- Process all WSIB and MVA claims.
- Generate clinic reports for patient follow‑up, daily and weekly balancing, and practitioner compensation.
- Ensure the clinic is tidy at all times and perform light laundry for linens used in treatment rooms.
- Manage all orthotic and shoe orders.
- Manage the individual needs of multiple health‑care practitioners.
- Willingness to learn current practices.
Required Academic & Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in administration/reception in the health‑care field, dealing directly with patients preferred.
- Administrative experience of 3 years required.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and patient‑management software.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Basic accounting skills and Point of Sale knowledge.
- Superior customer service and communication/interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of record retention for medical offices.
- Ability to apply learned skills to different situations and adapt easily to new situations.
- Previous experience with WSIB and MVA claims an asset.
- Medical admin course an asset.
Required Licences / Certifications
- Driver’s license (required).
Education
- DCS / DEC preferred.
Compensation
From $18.50 per hour.
