Full Job Description
JOB TITLE: Receptionist
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
To provide support to administrative office staff assuring a smooth departmental work flow. Responsible for performing daily tasks such as sorting mail, answering phone and routing incoming calls, filing, copying, data entry, and other similar duties, using a computer terminal. Relieves office staff of clerical work, and minor administrative and business detail
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Receptionist):
Answer, screen, and forward calls, providing information and taking messages
Interact with all levels of management
Meet and greet visitors entering the office, determine the nature or purpose of visit, and direct or escort them accordingly
Compose and prepare routine correspondence
Keep reception area neat
Back up for other assistants
Determine appropriate direction for business inquiries
Daily filing and retrieving of files
Maintain organized filing systems
Complete a variety of special projects
Perform other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Credentialing Assistant):
Credentialing refers to the process of receiving and validating information on the professional qualifications of an individual who applies for appointment.
Process Physicians and Allied Heath for privileges to perform procedures at ASC by processing applications, verifying education, training, experience, and
competency (as validated by queries into the NPDB and the AMA), process applications through Committee review process.
Send out reappointment applications to providers 60-90 days prior to credentialing due date.
Provide notification of temporary, full, and reappointment privileges to all providers listed above in accordance to policies and procedures.
Provide notification to the Facility Administrative Director, VP, Marketing, Management, etc. when the credentialing process has been completed.
Maintain, crosscheck and upkeep of credentialing software databases: HST & MD-Staff
Other assigned duties.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in health and/or business strongly preferred+
1-3 years of experience with physician credentialing and licensure highly
desirable.
2+ years of administrative experience
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, Excel, PowerPoint skills, computer systems, programs and spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge of medical terminology and analyzing information.
Knowledge of computer systems, programs and spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge of state, federal and accreditation board regulations.
