POSITION SUMMARY:
This position encompasses the accountability for quality control and training for all Ambulatory (professional) Revenue Cycle (Ambulatory Patient Access) areas throughout RMF/DHR Health Clinic by developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating processes to meet departmental educational and competency needs of operational staff. The position is also responsible for automation and process training(s) in specifically, but no limited to professional billing. The position will coordinate with all areas (specifically Registration, Scheduling, and Insurance Verification) specifically billing tasks related to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing, and Cash Posting. The Ambulatory Billing Educator oversees all training aspects of revenue cycle curriculum. Will design, develop, implement, evaluate and maintain as DHR continues to evolve.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, Educational focus on Revenue Cycle Management and/or Information Technology strongly desired
Minimum of five (5) years professional billing experience
Experience with large hospital information systems required
Knowledge and expertise in the following areas: hospital and physician billing requirements, CPT/HCPCS coding schemes and hospital and physician reimbursement methodologies
Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, critical thinking and writing skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with department heads and supervisory staff
Excellent PC skills; proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other publishing software programs needed for creation of training materials.
Excellent presentation skills and the ability to transfer knowledge are essential
Ability to work with minimum of supervision
Excellent customer service skills.
Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Good written and verbal communication skills required.
Bilingual – English/Spanish.

Responsibilities:
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices
Conduct routine needs assessments to identify learning needs and develop educational plans of action.
Develop, implement and evaluate in-service programs or workshops. Collaborate with Clinic Educators, Revenue Cycle Clinic Educators, managers and supervisors to develop training programs for new and existing employees. Develop training packets for new staff and provide orientation programs. Maintain records to document accountability and compliance.
Provide ongoing training on all Ambulatory Revenue Cycle systems to new and existing staff including classroom, clinic specific trainings, one-on-one basis and/or groups.
