DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs varied administrative duties in the research, development, interpretation and implementation of all vehicles at Houston Permitting Center. Develops, monitors, analyzes and updates various reports. Creates, monitors and updates for vehicle assignments, renewals and salvage units. Creates, manages, and coordinates various reports for all vehicle assignments. Collects and reviews all accident packets for completeness and sends to proper personnel for processing reports to monitor the license plate and registration expiration dates for all vehicles assigned at the Houston Permitting Implements administrative policies for the service line’s operational policies and procedures. Maintains the FleetFocus database and generates reports as needed. Responds to written and telephone inquiries, requests and complaints from and external customers. Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.

This is a Department of Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of administrative experience are required.

Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

PREFERENCES

Preference will be given to those candidates who are proficient in FleetFocus M5, Microsoft office; possess a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize various tasks and see them to completion with minimal supervision; demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written; value teamwork.

Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**
