Position: Scheduling Coordinator Central Supply

Responsibilities:

Creating weekly and monthly staff schedules for all nursing units, including day, evening, and night shifts.

Matching staff skills and qualifications to resident care needs.

Managing staff time off requests, sick leave, and vacation scheduling.

Filling open shifts with available staff or agency personnel.

Addressing staffing shortages and coordinating with management to find solutions.

Communication and Coordination:

Communicating schedule changes to staff promptly and effectively.

Collaborating with nursing supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth patient care delivery.

Responding to staff availability updates and scheduling conflicts.

Maintaining open communication with residents, families, and staff regarding scheduling matters.

Administrative Tasks:

Utilizing scheduling software to create, track, and update staff schedules.

Maintaining accurate staff attendance records and timekeeping.

Generating reports on staffing levels and potential issues.

Adhering to facility policies and regulatory requirements regarding staffing and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with staff, residents, and families.

Proficiency with scheduling software and computer applications.

Understanding of healthcare regulations and nursing home operations.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience in healthcare scheduling, preferably in a nursing home setting.

Central Supply Responsibilities:

Receiving and stocking supplies: Checking incoming deliveries against purchase orders, verifying quantities and quality, and properly storing supplies in designated areas.

Inventory management: Maintaining accurate records of all medical supplies, monitoring stock levels, and placing orders with vendors to ensure adequate supply.

Filling supply requests: Responding to requests from nursing staff on different floors, accurately picking and delivering required supplies.

Organizing storage areas: Maintaining a clean and organized supply room, utilizing proper labeling and rotation systems to prevent expired items.

Infection control: Following strict sanitation procedures for handling and distributing medical supplies to prevent cross-contamination.

Quality control: Inspecting supplies for damage or defects before distributing them.

Data entry: Recording supply usage and inventory details into electronic systems.

Communication: Collaborating with nursing staff to understand their supply needs and address any concerns.

Skills and Qualifications for a Central Supply Role:

Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.

Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient supply room.

Ability to lift and move heavy boxes of supplies.

Basic understanding of medical supplies and equipment.

Knowledge of infection control practices.

Computer literacy for inventory tracking.
