Job Summary:
To provide administrative and clerical support to school site administrator and assigned personnel; to communicate information regarding school and/or district functions; and to ensure compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements of assigned functions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform secretarial functions (i.e. typing, filing, recordkeeping, etc) for the purpose of assisting school administrator and assigned personnel
* Respond to inquiries (students, parents, teachers, district personnel, general public, etc) to communicate procedures, information and/or direction and/or to evaluate situations to take appropriate action according to established guidelines
* Compile data from a variety of sources (i.e. timesheets, requisitions, student enrollment, student attendance, cash deposits, etc) and prepare reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial, legal and/or administrative requirements
* Compose documents and/or written materials (i.e. correspondence, newsletters, memos, minutes, etc) to communicate and convey information to students, parents, teachers, etc
* Process and/or prepare documents and materials (i.e. PARFs, requisitions, timesheets, transcripts, incoming/outgoing mail, etc) to disseminate information in compliance with district, state and/or federal regulations
* Schedule and coordinate activities (i.e. appointments, meetings, calendars, etc) for assigned personnel
* Secure substitute personnel, as needed, to ensure staffing requirements are met for the efficient operation of site activities
* Establish and maintain accurate site files and records in accordance with district, state and/or federal regulations
* Maintain and order supplies and materials ensuring availability; monitor budget expenditures in compliance with district, state and/or federal guidelines
* Regular and on-time attendance required
* Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
* May direct or guide other personnel assigned to site
* Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
* High School education or equivalent required
* Previous related work experience

Physical Requirements:
* Typically based in the school’s main office or administrative area
* Frequent contact with students, parents, teachers, and administrators-requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Regularly interacts with the principal, assistant principal, faculty, and district personnel.
* Manages multiple tasks simultaneously-answering phones, handling paperwork, scheduling, etc.
