Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing complex and diversified administrative duties for a department. The primary responsibility is to serve as the staffing scheduler for the Float Pool Department, overseeing scheduling for 45-50 inpatient units. The scheduler will contact unit leaders, assign staff, and maintain real-time communication with team members across the hospital. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, critical thinking under pressure, and strong communication abilities in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Two-Week
Schedule:
Sunday/Monday and Thursday/Friday 12:45 pm – 11:15 pm
Monday-Wednesday/Saturday 12:45 pm – 11:15 pm
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: None
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Five (5) years of clerical experience, with at least three (3) years directly related to the assignment.
Some supervisory skills are preferred.
Principal Accountabilities
Develops and produces reports, letters, memoranda, minutes, and other departmental correspondence. Maintains and updates departmental files.
Ensures timely and proper distribution of reports and communications.
Orients and trains employees regarding system and hospital policies and procedures.
Identifies and responds to problems with appropriate action and follow-up.
Ensures safe patient care, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budget, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy.
Supports professional growth and development through mandatory/continuing education and skills competency. Acts as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
Creates compassionate and personalized experiences, demonstrating commitment to caring for every community member. Models service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
Other duties as assigned.
