Job description

A Dental Office Care Coordinator handles patient relations and schedules treatment for efficiency and productivity. Working in partnership with the providers and staff ensures a smooth operation at the individual office level with the objective of reaching daily productivity and collections goals. Administrative functions such as insurance verification, claims submission, communication with patients regarding their insurance benefits and payment options are all critical tasks of this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Previous general dental office chairside assisting and administrative experience is expected for this position.
Knowledge of essential functions in a core dental office
Knowledge of dental terminology and general dental procedures
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and dental practice management software (i.e., Patterson’s EagleSoft)
Knowledge of ADA procedural coding
Knowledge of dental insurance protocols
Knowledge of dental operational and electronic records keeping
Skill in operating a workstation or personal computer
Skill in operating various office equipment, such as a copy/fax machine, credit card processing terminal and telephone system are expected.
Keen understanding of optimal scheduling to reach daily production goals (i.e., rock, pebble and sand scheduling).
Understanding of financial systems in order to support the practice and increase collections
Knowledge of HIPPA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
Ability to submit dental claims DAILY that are complete with all the proper information to minimize the need for resubmitting claims. Ability to send claims with radiographs, periodontal charting and a proper and complete narrative.
Ability to take the initiative and solve problems and inform management of how you solved those problems
Ability to follow directives as set forth by management
Ability to present treatment plans and financing options to patients
Ability to work with team members in a harmonious way
Ability to stay organized in your work space
Ability to provide exemplary customer service for both internal and external customers.
Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and to enhance teamwork in the office
Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with both patients and fellow team members
Ability to speak clearly over the telephone with a smile in your voice
Ability to maintain a Driver’s License and own your own vehicle used to commute to and from the office even in inclement winter weather.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments or projects in an acceptable time-frame
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently (Ability to speak Spanish is also a plus).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
