Student Experience Assistant III – Admissions Assistant
Requisition NumberPosition Summary
The Admissions Assistant assists and supports enrollment services, including but not limited to admitting and answering students’ enrollment questions. This position offers general customer service and assists, guides, and responds to student needs throughout the enrollment process from the time of application through enrollment and provides operational and functional support to the departments within Enrollment Services. The Admissions Assistant must use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Answer the phones and general email inquiries.
- Assist in updating and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of student records.
- Assist with verifying and processing applications into the student database.
- Assist in responding to student information requests and inquiries and instructing students on student information systems, learning management systems, and email accounts.
- Assist with special projects from the Admissions Staff.
- Maintain compliance with FERPA and apply institutional policies and procedures.
- Assist with events (requires some evening and weekend hours).
- Assist with daily office functions as necessary.
- Assist with covering college fairs or high school visits if needed.
- Assist with prospective students’ applications and direct them to the appropriate sources for guidance on courses of study, financial aid, scholarships, or other information.
- Assist with prospective students and answer questions about FCC, areas of study, and opportunities for students.
Required
Minimum Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in customer service, higher education, or sales.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the post-secondary higher education environment
- Experience using databases and with higher education enterprise student applications/student information systems
- Experience with document imaging systems
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and customer service skills
- Excellent skills and initiative in teamwork
- Ability to converse in a language other than English
- Experience working with diverse populations
