The primary purpose of the position is to be the team supervisor of the Exceptions Section. Duties include, but are not limited to:Responsible for the day-to-day activities within the team
Responsible for evaluating the daily operations of the team and working with the other payment team supervisors to ensure each processing flow is operating efficiently, while looking for ways to improve, expand, test, and enhance operations to allow for new and innovative ways of receiving and processing tax submissions. Measures and monitors employee performance through coaching, administering personnel policies, and employee development
Contact with other divisions, state agencies, financial institutions, service providers, employers, and taxpayers will occur daily to prioritize and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and attention detail due to high volumes and consequences of making errors Supervise the processing of a large volume of tax documents requiring accuracy and close visual attention
Manage changing work priorities, workflow, procedures, checks are timely deposited and accurately accounted for all taxpayer remittances
Capture and correct applicable data from taxpayer documents for posting to departmental databases and provide records management services
This position will sometimes be responsible for keying in house payment vouchers from the MPV Stats databases for timely processing of various tax schedules, as well as completing the fiscal year closeout for the Suspense account with NCDOR Financial Services section. Tax submissions must be processed in accordance with strict deadlines and standards to assure timely and accurate record handling.
