Role Description:

We are looking for a Paralegal with at least 2-3 years of experience to join our Trust and Estates and Corporate team working out of our Global headquarters at Rockefeller Center. This position, along with a paralegal team of 3, will support various members of our 19-person legal team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Drafting & filing probate and administration petitions; assisting fiduciaries with estate administration.

Estate tax returns (Form 706, etc.):
Prepare & file federal and state level estate tax returns, including: asset valuation, beneficiary distribution, and closing letter requests.

Corporate Filings (LLCS, Corps., Foundations, etc.):
Draft & file documents necessary for the formation and governance of entities, including related state and federal compliance filing (i.e.: annual reports Beneficial Owner Information reports, etc.).

Gift tax returns (Form 709, etc.):
Track client gifting and reporting requirements for gift tax returns and draft & file the same.

Draft loan docs, calculate interest & annuity payments.

Effectively communicate & coordinate estate planning action items with clients’ family offices, accounting firms, and banking teams.

Specifically, we are looking for someone with/who:

A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant

A bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certification

Is honest and trustworthy

Is well-organized

Is accountable and eager to take on responsibility, taking the initiative whenever appropriate

Embraces technology and is willing to implement it to increase efficiency

Has a drive to produce consistently high-quality work in a fast-paced environment

Communicates effectively verbally and in writing

Experience filing Forms 706 and 709

Mid-level ability of Microsoft Office Suite – specifically fluent in Excel and Adobe

Preferably has experience using the following systems: iManage, Intapp, EVP Systems, and Number Cruncher

Is discreet and professional

Work Status: Full-time – 5 days in-person initially with a status review after the first 6 months
