Who We Are:

ReadyCT is a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to advance academic excellence and career-connected learning for all public school students in Connecticut through collaboration with business, civic, and education leaders. ReadyCT advances its mission by offering dynamic programming in school buildings that, with intention, bridges the gap between public education and the employers who will, ultimately, look to hire students from our public schools. Businesses continue to respond well to the programming; last year, over 100 Connecticut businesses of all sizes and across all sectors worked alongside ReadyCT to inform ReadyCT’s programming efforts.

ReadyCT also maintains a presence in legislative circles, advocating for policies that bring about systemic improvement to Connecticut public education, with an emphasis on advancing equity and access.

ReadyCT has a formal affiliation with CBIA, the CT Business & Industry Association, which is the largest, most representative business organization in the state. CBIA members include businesses of all sizes from nearly all industries in Connecticut. ReadyCT partners with CBIA business members to bring career-connected learning to students across the state.

What We’re Looking For

The administrative assistant will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who manages a variety of tasks and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and should be proficient with office software and adaptable to various digital tools. We value candidates who handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Teamwork and the ability to collaborate with a variety of ReadyCT team members will contribute to success within the role.

What You’ll Do:

Support day-to-day office operations, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and scheduling candidate interviews.

Serve as a point of contact for the organization, emails, and providing information to ReadyCT and external stakeholders.

Complete profile setup in the ReadyCT’s payroll platform.

Complete intern onboarding paperwork.

Organize and maintain files, documents, or records.

Draft and proofread emails, letters, and reports.

Monitor office supplies, place orders, and keep inventory stocked and organized.

Assist in the preparation and execution of meetings, including equipment setup, taking meeting minutes, and booking meeting rooms.

Provide support to senior staff, including research, data analysis, and special projects.

Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Desired Skills:

Associate/bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.

Proficiency in office software (e.g., Google Suite).

Strong organizational abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Adaptability and ability to work through ambiguity.

Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.

Knowledge of office equipment and basic technology.
