Come join Waukesha County’s Public Works-Central Fleet Division’s Team as an Administrative Assistant.

The Administrative Assistantis the customer service representative for the Division and provides clerical/office support to 14 team members. The work ranges from answering and responding to customer calls, recording repair requests, distributing work orders, processing team member time cards, and updating reports.

The Administrative Assistant works in an automotive/heavy truck garage wherein they are subjected to loud noises, fumes, and changing temperature conditions on a daily basis. The shop is a highly fluid environment with rapidly changing priorities based upon weather and emergency operations.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED

Ideal Candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, demonstrate solid Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and skill (ex: Excel, Word, Outlook, Calendaring), have familiarity with the maintenance and repair of motorized equipment., and possess a valid WI driver’s license.

Under close supervision, performs a broad variety of clerical and administrative support work in a department, division, program, or other work unit within County government. Typical duties include greeting visitors, answering and directing calls, providing customer service, preparing communications, preparing, organizing, and maintaining records, reports and files, assists with projects, responds to the public, and performs related work as required.
