The Division of Financial Institutions ensures Ohioans’ money is safe by regulating financial institutions and service providers. This includes examining, supervising and regulating Ohio chartered banks and credit unions, and licensing and regulating non-depository mortgage brokers, mortgage loan originators, and other consumer lenders. The Division’s Office of Consumer Affairs provides assistance to consumers to help resolve complaints against these institutions and works to provide education to Ohioans regarding financial literacy and other consumer protection topics.

Commerce is comprised of seven operating divisions and two standalone programs that span a variety of industries including real estate, liquor, banking, securities, firefighting, construction and skilled trades, and medical marijuana. Through exceptional compliance practices and oversight, Commerce has a direct role in protecting Ohioans.

What You’ll Do:
Works with consumers and other governmental agencies to be in compliance with the state rules and regulations
Creates communication correspondence to internal and external customers
Examines applications for Company, branch and individuals for non-depositary financial institutions
Issues company, branch and individual licenses for non-depositary financial institutions
Creates legal cases, policies and procedures for non-depositary financial institutions
Serves as a lead worker and trainer for non-depositary financial institutions
Commerce is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that may incorporate both teleworking and in-person office hours. Employees must be able to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training.
