Deliver Food with Gopuff – No Riders, No Restaurants Jobs in Edgemere, MD at Gopuff
Ready-Mix Driver: Drive truck equipped with concrete mixer to deliver ready mix concrete to job sites and perform specific customer service tasks.
As a Ready-Mix Driver, must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Show up on time and ready for work! Always have an awareness of safety for yourself and those around you.
Role and Responsibilities
· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle to ensure safe operational order and report maintenance or repair issues.
· Servicing and maintenance of vehicle daily, including maintaining a clean truck appearance inside and out.
· Be able to manipulate truck steering wheel (power steering), shifter and other various levers and knobs necessary for operation of truck and associated equipment.
· Operate ready-mix concrete truck to deliver to construction sites, as specified, in a safe and efficient manner, obeying applicable laws and following dispatch instructions.
· May add materials (fiber, color or other additives) to concrete mix
· Ensure quality of product delivered, slump, etc.
· Rinse out drum and chutes, and dump slurry as required by established procedures.
· Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle, investigate abnormalities and perform operator maintenance and minor field repairs.
· Safety – Follow safety procedures to always ensure safety of self and crew. Use PPE while on the jobsite (i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility vest, steel toe boots and gloves) Understand safety procedures and use them to guide trucks and equipment at needed. Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Class A CDL with required endorsements; Must pass DOT physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
Experience: Three to Five years driving experience in a commercial or construction setting preferred. Five years clean driving record preferred. Ready-Mix industry knowledge preferred.
Skills/Core Knowledge
Qualified Candidates should meet the following requirements:
· Knowledge of D.O.T regulations
· Must be able to handle stressful situations and ability to prioritize based on the business needs
· Excellent customer service skills, including strong communication skills, both verbal and written
· Must be able to meet the company’s attendance policies
· Must be willing to work overtime and irregular hours
· Must be able to work independently, without direct supervision.
· Ability to lift to 70 pounds.
Working Conditions
This position will require you to sometimes work in extreme weather conditions.
