Full Job Description
SUMMARY
The General Clerk II does a variety of tasks, selecting appropriate methods from a variety of procedures or making simple adaptations and interpretations of a limited number of options.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Duties involve a combination of the following:
Prepares and sorts source documents.
Contacts preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
Data entry from source documents into operating system(s).
Reviews and makes necessary corrections to information entered.
Assists in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient records management system.
Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
Responsible for keeping filing up to date.
May be required to perform other tasks as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have data entry skills and experience using current computer software applications.
Must be proficient in Excel.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance required.
Must be eligible for and able to maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Must have the ability to interface and communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, management, and internal/external customers.
Must be able to pay high attention to detail, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple requests and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new systems and processes.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years’ related experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers and staff members.
