Maintenance Office Support Tech I – II – San Saba – (2501484)

Salary/Plan Grade:

Maintenance Support Tech I: A13 $50,000 – $52,388 / yearly

Maintenance Support Tech II: A15 $50,000 – $58,045 / yearly

Position Description

Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Essential Duties for the Maintenance Support Tech I:

Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment
Coordinates with District Warehouse personnel on surplus property sales of miscellaneous items
Maintains equipment service records.
Maintains radio contact with field units; responds to assists with emergency situations as required.
Monitors the use of equipment and transfers
Prepares statistical reports and verifies for accuracy and completeness accuracy and completeness.

Additional Duties for the Maintenance Support Tech II:

Assists with data entry for construction record-keeping.
Monitors equipment mileage and service records.
Researches and compiles information for reports or inquiries and assists in organizing, coordinating and preparing written or statistical reports.
Monitors and assists with data entry for maintenance contract record keeping.
Prepares and distributes correspondence.
Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.
Processes receipts and invoices for payment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.

Experience: Maintenance Support Tech I : None / Maintenance Support Tech II: 1 YEAR in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience.
(Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part time equivalent)

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Applicable industry safety standards, guidelines, and specification codes
Researching, analyzing, and interpreting policies and state and federal laws and regulations specific to functional area
Maintaining effective working relationships with others
Coordinating labor, materials, and equipment
Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files, and reports
Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems

Additional Competencies for Maintenance Support Tech II:

Applicable laws, rules, and regulations
Composing correspondence and technical documents
Prioritizing and organizing work assignments
Preparing technical/statistical reports

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools.
Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
Standing-prolonged periods of time
Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
