Responsibilities:

The Orders and Referrals Specialist is responsible for the processing and follow up of Harmony Cares Medical Group orders and referrals. They will assist with the scheduling of specialist referrals, external diagnostic testing, and external radiology services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end processing of orders and referrals, complying with Harmony Cares established processes and procedures

Coordinate and schedule appointments for patients with specialists, diagnostic facilities, and other healthcare providers based on urgency, availability and insurance coverage

Assist patients with maps, facility locations, and direct dial numbers to specialists, diagnostic facilities and other healthcare providers as needed

Coordinate with Health Information Management (HIM) team to organize and ensure that all required records, imaging, and/or procedural results are available to external provider(s) before patient’s appointment(s)

Communicate and share necessary patient information to schedule home and DME services and/or orders

Follow up with patients and providers to assure ordered services were completed or ordered equipment was received

Answer and resolve inbound calls from patients, caregivers, and providers related to ordered services, including clarification questions, scheduling inquiries, and status updates

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge,

Skills and Qualifications

Graduate of an approved Medical Secretarial program or one year of medical clinical experience, which must include keyboarding experience and experience interacting with people on the telephone (i.e., receptionist, switchboard, etc.)

3 years of customer service experience

Experience with

multi-tasking

Strong

communication skills

(written & spoken)

Demonstrate proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) system, call center technology, and Microsoft Office Suite
